Compressibility, often expressed as the Carr Index or Hausner Ratio, reflects the extent to which a powder reduces in volume when subjected to tapping or pressure. A high compressibility index may indicate poor flowability or inefficient packing, while a low index typically corresponds to better flow and more predictable processing behavior.
