Headspace gas analysis

Our headspace gas analysis is specifically designed for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) applications, where controlling the internal gas composition is essential to preserving product quality and extending shelf life. By accurately measuring oxygen (O₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentrations within sealed packages, the system helps verify that the packaging environment meets required specifications. This is particularly critical for perishable goods such as fresh produce, meats, dairy products, baked goods, and ready-to-eat meals, where improper gas levels can lead to spoilage, microbial growth, or loss of texture and flavor. In pharmaceutical and medical packaging, maintaining the correct gas balance is also key to ensuring product stability and efficacy.

To provide a more comprehensive packaging evaluation, we collaborate closely with our Special Project Team, who conduct detailed shelf-life studies. This includes microbiological analysis to assess the impact of gas composition on microbial growth and product safety over time. By combining gas analysis with microbiological testing, we offer clients a deeper understanding of product stability, enabling them to optimize packaging design, improve self-life, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
